Many have predicted that the next world wars will not be fought over oil but over control of water, the basis of all life.

Water has typically been considered a public resource with the recognition that it is vital to sustaining life. Now governments around the world are being pressured to hand water rights over to transnational corporations for private profit.

Largely ignored by the mainstream media, there has been little public awareness or debate about the world’s water situation and the stark realities facing many around the globe. This film explores the issues and what happens when you put a price tag on this precious resource.

  • What happens to people who can’t afford to pay?
  • Should all people have a right to water, which is necessary to live?
  • Should outside interests be able to access a community’s water source and sell it back to the people who live there?

Media Tank invites you to join us for a video screening and discussion, with special guests, about an issue that has rapidly become the greatest environmental and human rights crisis of our time.
